Every modern smart lock supports several unlock methods, but the biometric you lead with changes the product’s price point and its audience. Here is how fingerprint, face and palm vein compare.
Fingerprint: the dependable default
Semiconductor fingerprint sensors are fast and low-cost, which is why every handle lock in our range, from the B7 to the T6S, uses one. Typical limits are worn fingerprints, wet hands and children’s growing fingers. Pair it with a password and card as backups.
3D face recognition: hands-free entry
Our dual-screen series, for example the A60S and AC38S, uses AI 3D face recognition with an indoor 4.5-inch screen and an outdoor camera. It suits families carrying shopping or children, and premium projects. Capacity is 50 faces and 50 fingerprints on these models, and voice commands can be used to add faces.
Palm vein: an extra layer
The HP-01 combines 3D structured-light face recognition with palm vein recognition. The detail page lists a recognition speed of up to 0.5 seconds. Palm vein is attractive where fingerprints wear out or where a contactless second biometric is desired.
Which should you offer?
| Customer | Lead with |
|---|---|
| Rental flats, small shops | Fingerprint handle or deadbolt |
| Family homes, villas | 3D face with video cat-eye |
| Premium projects | CNC-engraved dual-screen series |
| Workers with worn fingerprints | Face or palm vein |
Always keep a backup
Whatever the biometric, include a mechanical key and an emergency power option. Dual-screen models use Type-C emergency power and handle locks use a USB port.
