Naming convention

How mortise lock body sizes are named

Bodies are commonly named by backset and centre distance, for example 6068 for a 60 mm backset and 68 mm centre distance, and 6085, 6090 and 5072 in the same way. Our “68 lock body” refers to this family. Always confirm with a drawing or photo, because the same label can differ between manufacturers.

Mortise doors with euro-profile cylinders are common. Confirm backset, faceplate size, door handing and cylinder length. The photo of our 68 body shows the euro-profile cylinder opening.

Russia and CIS

Metal entrance doors and wooden interior doors are both common. Send the door thickness and the lock body already installed; our 68 body models and 5050 wooden-door models cover the usual cases.

North America and rentals

American-style deadbolts such as the D3 replace ball locks and old deadbolts on doors of 35-50 mm. Confirm hole layout with a photo before ordering.
