Russia and the neighbouring CIS markets have a clear door culture: heavy steel entrance doors for flats and houses, and wooden or MDF doors inside. Each calls for different smart lock choices.
Steel entrance doors
Steel doors usually have a thick leaf and a mortise body fitted in the edge. Door thickness varies widely, so measure it first. The B65S lists suitable doors as wooden doors, anti-theft doors and iron or steel gates, with door thickness of 40-120 mm. The T6S lists anti-theft doors, wooden doors, office doors and villa gates.
Bodies and centre distance
An 85 mm centre distance is a frequently used spacing on steel-door mortise locks in Russia, Turkey and neighbouring markets. That is why our automatic locks on the 68 body come with a 6085 rear-lock option (60 mm backset, 85 mm centre distance), and a 6090 option as well. Confirm with a photo of your existing body because manufacturers differ.
Many Russian entrance doors also carry two locks, for example a lever lock and a cylinder lock. A smart lock normally replaces one of them. Decide which lock the customer wants to retain as a mechanical backup.
Wooden and interior doors
For wooden doors, the B6 and B36 use a 5050 body with a Class C cylinder and four AA batteries. The B6 has a Russian detail page set.

Cold climates
Entrance doors in Russia face low temperatures. The A60S and A20S specification pages list a fingerprint operating temperature of -20 to 55 °C, and the B65S lists -25 to 50 °C. Choose models by their stated range and keep a mechanical key as backup.
